Pucker Up for Valentine's Day!
The Capitals invite you to Pucker Up for Valentine's Day at this Saturday's 8:20PM game vs. Calumet! The contest's winning couple will receive an overnight stay at an area hotel, dinner for two, movie passes, flowers, chocolate and more!

At the game's opening faceoff, couples will stand just outside the ice rink and lock lips as close to the rink's glass as possible. As the game progresses, participating couples will have to continue kissing, even as slap shots and crashes into the boards near where they are standing occur. The couple that goes the longest without being spooked and breaking their lip-lock will win a fabulous prize package. For more information, please visit www.VernonHillsCapitals.com.

Forward Arik Lebda and defenseman Joe Pace were both promoted to the defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings' AA affiliate Flint Generals earlier this month. The Generals compete in the International Hockey League (IHL). Lebda, who has 12 goals and 11 assists in 15 games for the Capitals this season, was returned to Vernon Hills last week. Pace (2 goals and 4 assists in 11 games for the Capitals this season) stuck with the Generals and is +3 with 7 penalty minutes in 4 games with Flint since being called up on January 30.

A number of other Capitals have played professionally at the A and AA levels. Forward Blake Stewart spent the better part of the last 4 seasons in the AA-level IHL (formerly the United Hockey League [UHL]) accumulating 39 goals and 34 assists in 202 professional games. John Burton spent the last 3 season in the AA-level East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) and UHL. Forward Bobby Siers scored 4 goals and 5 assists in 35 games last season for the Huntsville Havoc in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). Joe Pace has been up and down the professional hockey ladder, having played for 9 different teams in the Central Hockey League (CHL), IHL, UHL, and SPHL dating back to 2003. Several other players on the Capitals' active roster have also competed for various A-level pro teams during the course of their careers.
