February 20 vs. West Bend (Wisconsin) Bombers 8:00PM at Glacier Ice Arena Capitals Fall to Calumet Wolverines; Back Home This Friday!  Vernon Hills Capitals 7, Calumet (Michigan) Wolverines 8The Calumet Wolverines from Michigan's Upper Peninsula skated away from Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills Saturday night with an 8-7 victory. Calumet jumped out to a 5-1 first period lead, but during the second and third periods the Capitals clawed their way back. Vernon Hills eventually tied the game with 3:51 left in the third period, but the celebration was short-lived. With 2:24 remaining in the game, Calumet scored on a powerplay to secure the win. The defeat marks the seventh time in 19 games this season that the Capitals have lost by a single goal. At right: Blake Stewart scored twice for the Caps Saturday night. Home This Friday vs. West Bend Bombers The Capitals return home to Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills this Friday to host the West Bend (Wisconsin) Bombers at 8:00PM. The two teams have met twice before this season. On November 15, the Capitals beat the Bombers 4-3 in West Bend. On January 2, West Bend skated away from Vernon Hills with an 8-4 victory.
